Conkmail offer a free web-based email service with all the emenities including an address book that can include photos. This is the most full-featured free email service I have found online. Highly recommended

I like this free email service because of the integration of a notification service that can send reminders for special events such as birthdays, meetings, etc. It will work with your pager as well as sending notifications via email. You can also have your email forwarded and collected from other email accounts.

ApexMail -

ApexMail offers many features with their free account, as well as special features like POP access, with their "platinum" account.
